McMullan Project Featured in The Washington Post
Designed by Quinn Evans Architects, McMullan & Associates provided structural design for the new Terrace Theater at the Kennedy Center. Work included removal of the original auditorium seating structure and evaluation of the existing structure for new loads to enable a new ADA compliant seating arrangement as well as provision of balconies and improved acoustical performance of the building. Its refurbishment also included installation of a monumental staircase for improved circulation, support for large sculptures, and acoustic/stage upgrades. McMullan also provided rapid response engineering services to address existing conditions that were unknown and discovered during renovation to minimize impact on the project schedule.
