McMullan Selected for Mount Vernon Assessment

McMullan has been selected by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association to provide a mansion stabilization assessment of United States Founding Father and first President George  Washington’s home. The study will focus on ascertaining the measures necessary to ensure the stability and long-term structural integrity of the Mansion.

McMullan Principal Douglas E. Bond, PE, SE is the project manager and principal structural investigator. He is joined by other subject matter experts that include Conservation Solutions, Inc.
and Quantum Engineering Company (mechanical engineers).

McMullan & Associates Awarded New GSA IDIQ Contract

McMullan has been awarded a new GSA IDIQ Contract for the Nationwide A/E Structural & Seismic/Blast Engineering Services. Services include Structural Engineering, Project Management, Seismic/Blast/Geotechnical Engineering, and Architecture/Other Engineering Services, as needed. Projects include Emergency Response for Structural Failures, Facility Assessments, Renovations, Historic Preservations, Building Additions, and New Construction. To learn more, email McMullan Principal Douglas Bond, PE, SE at dbond@mcmse.com.

Washington Union Station Main Hall Restoration Winner of 2017 DC Historic Preservation Award

On May 23, the District of Columbia Office of Planning/Historic Preservation Office held its annual Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation, naming the Washington Union Station Main Hall Restoration project the winner of its “State Historic Preservation Officer’s Award.”

Smithsonian National Zoo GBS Stabilization Winner of 2017 Exposing Excellence in Concrete Award by NCC ACI

In May 2017, the National Capital Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (NCC ACI) has named the Smithsonian National Zoo – General Services Building Stabilization project as one of their 2017 “Exposing Excellence in Concrete” award winners. It was further commended by the NCC ACI that receiving one of this year’s awards was an accomplishment in light of their having received a total of 19 different project entries competing for recognition.
