McMullan Project Named NCSEA Structural Engineering Excellence (SEE) Awards Finalist

Today, McMullan received official word that our project for the C&O Canal Locks 3 & 4 Rehabilitation has been selected as a Finalist in the Non-Building Structures Category for the NCSEA 2025 Structural Engineering Excellence (SEE) Awards. One winner in each of the 10 categories will be named as the “Outstanding Structure.”

The Outstanding Structure for each category will be announced prior to the 2025 NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit slated for October 2025 in New York City at the annual NCSEA Summit. So, stay tuned!

McMullan Principal Doug Bond, PE, SE states, “We are delighted to have been selected as a finalist for this award. The Locks 3&4 project was an interesting and challenging project to work with the National Park Service on rehabilitating these unusual historic canal structures that contain operating timber miter gates that control the flow of water through the locks.”
