The third “We are thankful… ” series showcase celebrates the ribbon cutting ceremony held in July to mark the official opening of Children’s National Prince George’s County Outpatient Center. Nearly 100 people attended the event, and ABC-affiliated television station WJLA-TV live-streamed the event on Facebook.
Its keynote was made by Dr. Kurt Newman, President and CEO of Children’s National, and it was remarked that many projects of this type had been going on hold in the region. However, Children’s pushed ahead for completion of this regional center. Brief speeches were also given by members of the State of Maryland Senate and House as well as regional politicians and administrators. The day after this ceremony (July 22), many of the facility’s clinics opened with the surgery, radiology, and infusion center opening shortly thereafter. Most importantly, this center is invaluable for both the Prince George’s County community as well as Children’s.
