Charles Carroll Manor House Restoration

The Carroll House functions as a museum and also provides educational seminars, school programs, music, and a living history theater to bring to life the stories of the Carrolls and their 18th Century world. We performed a structural condition assessment and provided design, construction documents, and construction administration services for the preservation and restoration/repair of this historic manor, originally constructed 1680-1700. Located within the Annapolis Historic District, this house is deemed to be a contributing resource with an exceptionally high level of integrity and/or architectural significance to the Historic District. Work also included restoration/repair of the wood roof and floor framing systems; stabilization of masonry wall systems, including structural cracks and brick deterioration; restoration of the brick wine cellar; rehabilitation of the access and ventilation hatches; shoring and stabilization of failing original plaster ceilings.
